As a physiatrist with expertise in pain management and nonsurgical orthopedics at NYU Langone, I am committed to providing comprehensive and patient–provider care. My approach is rooted in a deep understanding of the multifaceted nature of pain and the importance of addressing it through a holistic lens.

I subspecialize in pain management, focusing on helping patients regain their functional abilities. When I treat patients, my primary goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of their conditions. By adopting a biopsychosocial approach, which recognizes health and illness as a result of a complex interplay among biological, psychological, and social factors, I strive to integrate various aspects of their lives to enhance their recovery and overall wellbeing.

My expertise extends to managing chronic pain conditions, which often require nuanced and individualized treatment plans. My training in physical medicine and rehabilitation, combined with a fellowship in pain management, equips me with the skills necessary to address complex pain issues effectively.

Throughout my career, I have actively contributed to the fields of orthopedics and physical medicine and rehabilitation at NYU Langone. My role as a medical advisor at the NYU Langone Occupational and Industrial Orthopedic Center, a center of excellence in musculoskeletal care, underscores my commitment to helping individuals achieve a high level of function. Additionally, I have served as the program director of the osteopathic residency training program in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Nassau University Medical Center, where I have mentored the next generation of physicians.

My journey into medicine was driven by a desire to fill gaps in medical education and improve patient care. After recognizing the crucial need for specialized training in pain management, I pursued a fellowship at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. This experience solidified my commitment to this field and led to my current role at NYU Langone.

Additionally, I am chairman of the Worker’s Compensation Board Committee of the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society and have been appointed by the Commissioner of New York State’s Department of Health to participate in the Office of Professional Medical Conduct, where I continue to advocate for high standards in medical practice.
